Intro
This year, I was excited to begin studying something I thought I was very passionate about in mechanical engineering. However, I quickly realized during the fall quarter, this was not exactly what I wanted to do. In high school, I did both computer science and engineering courses but when I came to Rose, I thought I only wanted to stick with the engineering part. Contrarily, I still had the urge to do both, so I found my middle ground in Computer Engineering and I couldn't have made a better decision. I enjoy computer engineering because it's both hands-on, through the electrical engineering side, and code-related, through the computer science side. I have a passion for improving machines and technology in order to better the lives of people and continue to innovate to higher levels. Engineering has been an outlet for me to be creative and express myself through designing and building original projects that will hopefully one day make a positive impact on the world.
I've grown up with younger siblings and feel like being the oldest has allowed me to grow in my leadership as well as personal skills. Another strength of mine is that I am hardworking. Once I'm given a task or problem to fix, I don't stop working until I'm able to present a solution or improvement. However, I'm still working on getting outside my comfort zone, especially when it comes to things I am completely unfamiliar with. God gave me the passion, opportunity, and ability to create something that could impact the world, and I'm really excited to unveil more of his purposes for me at Rose-Hulman.
